NOTICES TO PARISHES
ISSUE15 : 2007

Happy New Year everyone,
Just before I head to Stewart Island for five days with my family, I thought I should send the information from Garry Marquand that we received late November – I am sorry for not sending this earlier. It was agreed at the December Presbytery that this should go to all Parishes for your response.

Garry Marquand, along with others has been given the task of assessing Presbyteries, and they are seeking concise bullet point answers to these three questions:

THE QUESTIONS:
What changes has your Presbytery made over the last two to three years in the way you operate as a Presbytery, and what positive effects have you discerned from these changes?

In seeking to fulfill your obligations as a Presbytery name the biggest challenge you currently face?

What features of Presbytery life are most valued, and need to be preserved whatever the future may be?

The business committee are required to make a response to these questions by the end of January 2007, so as you reflect on 2006, and make plans for 2007, would you mind adding Southland Presbytery to your list.

FURTHER QUESTIONS: You may like to consider these questions also – it would help us in our planning for 2007.

How do you feel about the current plan of meetings for Southland Presbytery-
Business meetings – March, June, September and December
Resource meetings – February, May, August, and November
Clusters – April, July, October (January holiday)

Is this system working effectively?
What are the strengths and weaknesses of this system?

Are you happy with the way the Commission functions?
What do you see as the strengths and weaknesses?

What topics would you like presented at Resource Meetings?

How effective is your Cluster?
Does it need changes?

You may send your reflections to P.O.Box 58, Invercargill,
or email zonap@clear.net.nz - in anticipation, thank you!

This bulletin will be sent out to you whenever there are messages that need to be delivered to Parishes. If you want to contribute send the details to zonap@clear.net.nz
